It has been 50 years since the legendary music festival, Woodstock, has taken place. It was held in at Bethel on a 240 acre farm owned by Max Yasgur. The festival marks the peak of the anti movement linked to the hippy era during the 60's. Preaching: "3 Days of Peace and Music", the festival is now regarded as one of the most important historic events in the history of the American Hippy-culture.

Besides being the embodiment of the hippy culture during that period, Woodstock had many reasons for being one of the most memorable festivals of all time. Originally 200.000 people were expected to visit, this eventually became even more than 400.000, meaning many entrants didn't even pay the entry fee. This led to the festival being unprofitable, but this changed once the movie and records came out.

Even though it was recorded that an overwhelming part of the visitors consumed drugs and alcohol, there was little crime or violence recorded during the festivities. However, due to the unforeseen large amount of visitors, the authorities called in a state of emergency in order to be deal with the overwhelmingly large group of people. Only 3 people died, causes being related to insufficient insulin intake, the other being run over by a tractor when he was sleeping and the other died of a burst appendix.

Now in light of its 50th anniversary, HUF has released a capsule in style of the festival's hippy character. Checkout the HUF X Woodstock collection in the FRESHCOTTON webshop.
