This week Editors' Pick is inspired by Ralph Lauren's 'Polo by Ralph Lauren' collection. At FRESHCOTTON, we are proud to present that as of last week selected items from the Polo by Ralph Lauren collection can be found in the webshop. This week's style is called preppy. The preppy subculture originated in the 1950's from the North Eastern American private schools which were called preparatory schools. These schools prepared their students for the Ivy-league universities which later on also adopted the clothing style in the 70's. In the 80's the term preppy became a commonly adopted term which was associated with members of the upper class in the U.S., New Engeland and Great Britain. These groups shared many cultural elements of which sports such as polo, golf, tennis and sailing.
In light of preppy being the theme of this week's Editors' Pick, the fit features multiple elements from Ralph Lauren. Starting out with the red Ralph Lauren classic polo, which can be found underneath the Longsleeve Ralph Lauren Polo. Both collars are popped which was a common element to the preppy style. The blue Dickies shorts and red Vans belonging to the Anaheim pack finish the fit.
All items can be found in the FRESHCOTTON webshop.
