For the fall / winter 2019 collection, Carhartt WIP delivers its most versatile collection to date, with clothing ranging from reworked classics to rich windows and Car-Lux inspired outdoor clothing to a mix of sportswear and military details.
These include creating a varied but coherent collection that feels both contemporary and unmistakably Carhartt WIP.

As always, many of the pieces are based on a timeless, work-inspired aesthetic. Both the Michigan Chore Coat and the Detroit Jacket see this presented in a new Dearborn canvas made from organic cotton, creating a patina-like effect.
Elsewhere, there is a heavy focus on check and houndstooth. These classic patterns are applied to pieces with a characteristic Carhartt WIP style. The Master Pant is a good example made in dog tooth wool and is called the Norvell Pant.

From après-ski to after-hours, Paninaro to football casuals, the Carhartt collection also offers a mix of nostalgic sportswear references, filtered through a modern lens. These are pieces that enjoy the idea of recycled sportswear, because performance wear becomes casual wear. The key to this is the Dexter jacket and the fleece Prentice Pullover, which mimic the bold block colors and technical fabrics of early hunters.

As part of the seasonal military program there is the introduction of a seasonal camouflage of real trees - a new, custom-made motif that is unique to this Carhartt WIP collection. In addition, there is an injection with seasonal images, such as the 'Protect and Survive' emblem, which appears on public safety pamphlets from the 1970s.

Inspired by combat divers and arctic frogmen, there is also a focus on utilitarian fabrics and details. As such, down jackets are made from water-repellent tech fabrics, as well as a selection of pieces that focus on softshell fabrics, following signals from the iconic Carhartt WIP Car-Lux jacket and adapting to a contemporary sportswear look.
