Obey exists for more than 20 years and was founded by street artist and illustrator Shepard Fairey, who wanted to expand his work in activism with this clothing brand. Fairey's work did not begin with the Obey clothing brand but was firstly known for his street art.
With his artwork, he wanted to promote awareness of social issues and contribute directly to these causes. For example the famous poster of Barack Obama with the inscription ‘hope’ in an attempt to stimulate people’s curiosity and to support the former president during his election period. These new Obey items are just a small selection of many items and graphic designs by Obey.
Obey added items that will make your eyes glaze over: T-shirts with cool prints in red, light orange and vibrant blue can be found in the new collection that will transform your wardrobe. The star of this collection is the white denim suit (jacket and matching trousers) that forms a complete outfit, printed with black artworks. Pastel colours return in the form of a tie-dye sweater and a sporty polo in velvet fabric has been added. Obey stands for comfort, fashion and standing out from the crowd.
