New brand - Clarks Originals

This might not be the first brand that comes to mind when you think about streetwear. However, British brand Clarks Originals has had a significant impact on fashion as we know it. Founded in 1825 by Cyrus Clark the brand started with selling rugs.

A century later they left the rugs behind and focused on the production and selling of shoes while at the same time being known for being the go-to destination for style information. Ever since the brand managed to expand and even reached Jamaica where the Clarks Originals Desert Trek became a part of the Jamaican Rude Boy Culture in the ’60s. But it didn’t end there, three decades later the Desert Trek and Wallabee became street staples amongst rappers in New York with the most famous one being the Wu-Tang Clan.
